Diese Geschichte des trans* Superhelden Dragman ist von Steven Appleby, der am Ende des Buchs seine eigene Coming-Out-Geschichte erzählt: Wie er sich schon immer gewünscht hatte, als Mädchen geboren worden zu sein. Wie er in den 1960ern und 1970ern das Wort Transvestitismus entdeckte und erst in den 1990ern mit Hilfe des Internets herausfand, dass er nicht alleine war. Wie Steven (den Namen behält er bei) seit 2007 Vollzeit als trans* Frau lebt. - Wie Steven trägt der Superheld August zunächst nur heimlich Kleider. Dass diese Superkräfte verleihen ist ein schöner Vergleich dazu, wie stärkend es ist, eins selbst zu sein. Die zunächst unkommentiert dargestellte trans* Feindlichkeit, die Dragman im Superhelden-Club entgegeschlägt, wird, wenn auch spät, im Buch als solche benannt. Verlagsbeschreibungen:
