„Solidarische Fürsorge ist deswegen so wichtig, weil sie uns dabei hilft, Menschen für Gerechtigkeit und die Befreiung zu mobilisieren, und weil wir mit ihr auf die überlebenswichtigen Bedürfnisse der Menschen eingehen können“, schreibt trans* Aktivist Dean Spade, der u.a. das Sylvia Rivera Law Project mitbegründet hat und darüber als eins von vielen Beispielen für solidarische Fürsorge berichtet. Die meisten herangezogenen Beispiele stammen aus den letzten Jahrzehnten in den USA und Costa Rica, aber auch aus Hongkong während der Corona-Pandemie.
Vor allem aber gibt dieser Leitfaden Werkzeuge zur Hand mit denen solidarische Fürsorge umgesetzt werden kann. Der Text legt dar, was solidarische Fürsorge ausmacht, was es für Fallstricke gibt (z.B.
