So schreibt Ford Kelly auch in der Einleitung: "The Dreamscape is an essential part of Afrofuturism. It allows endless possibilities to reimagine a future where Black people have not only survived but have thrived. One where Black queer and trans people also have central roles." Neben den ausmalbaren Zeichnungen befinden sich am Ende drei Seiten mit "Afrofuturist inspired dreamspace prompts": Fragen mit Platz um Antworten aufzuschreiben, wie z. B. "How can you deporgram your view on productivity today?" oder "If you could teleport into the future what would you hope to see?" Die Einleitung, die Prompts und der Text auf dem Rückcover sind auf Englisch. Ansonsten kommt das Buch ohne Text aus - die Bilder sprechen für sich.
